Terms and Conditions

 

Welcome to our property, we require that all guests abide by the following terms and conditions. Failure to comply with these terms and conditions may result in you being requested to leave the property. 

  •  Any person on our property not registered/ Booked in upon arrival will be deemed to be trespassing. 

  • Alcohol consumption. It is a privilege not a right to consume alcohol, a Zero tolerance is the policy for drunk, disorderly, abusive or aggressive behaviour. No consumption by minors is allowed. No sale of alcohol in any form is allowed. 

  • Activities. While engaged in any activity on the property you must practice common safety procedures and consider others. All properties around us are private property. 

  • Children must be always supervised by a responsible person in particular when swimming in the river, we recommend all small children wear life jackets at all times in and around the river.

  • Speed limit within the property is walking pace. (Under 10 km per hour). Normal road rules apply on all tracks on the property. Vehicles must stay on existing roads and not drive across paddocks. Bicycle riders must wear their helmets. Please note that road conditions will change in wet weather, if you do get stuck do not panic and churn up roads, just contact owner for assistance. The driver of the vehicle is responsible at all times. 

  • No driving vehicles around property or collecting firewood after 8pm.

  • Driving of vehicles – please adhere to signs where access is not permitted.

  • No unregistered motorbikes/quad bikes or minibikes allowed. 

  • Registered Motor bikes only allowed on designated track to access campsite. 

  • Firewood - is both available onsite for sale pre-cut or you can cut your own when available. You may bring your own split wood.  Fires are permitted but must be restricted to the fire pits. Do not light a fire on the ground as this is a bush fire hazard.

  • Do not leave campfires unattended. No fires allowed during fire ban periods.

  • No loud music, singing or yelling after 9.30 pm or before 8.00 am. Excessively loud music, swearing and inconsiderate behaviour will not be tolerated.

  • Generators to be switched off at 9pm .Quiet generators only allowed to operate between 8.00am and 9pm Generators are not to be operated continuously, maximum run time is 2 hours, on then a minimum 2 hours off.

  • DUMP POINT – A dump esy is located at the entrance of our property for disposal or of chemical toilet cassettes and RV holding tanks. A hose is provided for your convenience. PLEASE NOTE: We do NOT allow bucket toilets or bags to be emptied into our dump point/bins.

No burying of waste of any sort allowed on property

  • Toilet - do not put any foreign material or liquid in them. Use the bin provided around camp site and dump point for personal hygiene items. Put the lid down when you are finished. No cigarette butts. No chemical toilets to be emptied into toilet, no buckets or volume of liquids. 

  • No outdoor showering or toilets, please use a shower tent or suitable enclosure.

  • WATER - due to health regulations drinking water can be sourced from the rainwater tank available at campground. Only drinking water containers are to filled from the rainwater tank. No filing of RV tanks.

  • Grey water to be directed away from camp site. Please be mindful of ponding. 

HAZARDS

  • Due to being in a natural environment there may be snakes, spiders and ticks, we take no responsibility if bitten.  

  • Biting insects - due to the nature of our environment you may encounter at times mosquitoes/sandflies. Please bring repellent.

  • Water activities can be dangerous. Do not assume it is safe to swim, jump or dive in off the riverbank. Parents and guardians are to be responsible for supervision of minors at all times whilst camping at Kolan River Retreat.

Other Hazards may include but not limited to - barb wire fences, steep riverbanks, uneven/steep surfaces, deep water.

  • Emergency Assembly Area - in the event of an emergency, all guests on the property are to assemble in the designated area. Please see map given on arrival.

  • Falling Tree Limbs - be aware that tree limbs can fall, Kolan River Retreat take no responsibility for damage or injury caused by falling tree limbs, camping is at your risk. You are responsible to choose a safe place to set up your camp.

  • Firearms, bows and cross bows are not allowed, including fireworks.

  • Camp areas to be left clean and tidy. Rubbish bins are provided at camp site and at dump point or to be taken off the property with you when you leave.

  • Check in - 2:00pm (unless otherwise arranged)

  • Check out time - your site must be vacated by 12:00pm the day of departure (unless otherwise arranged). 

     DOG OWNERS TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Dogs must be kept with you at all times whilst on our property.

  • The dog owner shall be responsible for any damage caused by their dog(s) to any persons, property or other animals on the property.

  • The dog/s must not be allowed to enter other campsites or neighbouring properties at any time.

  • Dog owners will remove, pick up and dispose of any dog droppings.

  • All dogs are to remain tethered after dark within the owner's campsite.

  • No dog is to be left unattended (you go out, the dog goes with you).

  • Owners must minimise disturbance to others by controlling barking at all times.

  • Any dog that has an aggressive nature or shows aggression to other patrons or animals may be asked to leave. Such animals will not be welcome to return.

  • Young children (under 10 years) must not be given sole care of a dog at any time. 

 BOAT RAMP AND BOATING

  • The ramp is gravel and for 4x4 use only, the ramp drops off quickly and it is your responsibility to check the ramp is suitable for your vessel. Kolan River Retreat take no responsibility for boats and cars when using the ramp. Once boating on the water, Kolan River Retreat take no responsibility for you or your actions, as you are responsible as skipper of your vessel and must comply to all Queensland maritime rules and regulations.

REFUNDS AND CREDITS

Refunds and credits are available if cancellations are received. Please phone or text. 

 PLEASE NOTE:

  • No show without notification - no refund or credit. Booking will be cancelled by end of arrival date

  • No refunds or credits for early departure, change of mind, in case of your delayed arrival or if fewer campers than booked occupy the camp site.

  • General poor weather conditions are not considered grounds for a refund or credit.

  • We are unable to guarantee requests for specific sites

  • All bookings are to be paid in full at time of arrival at current rates.

  • All cancellations need to be advised in writing/text or email to be eligible for refund/credit.

  • No refund or credit of deposit applies to Christmas/New years and Easter bookings after cut-off date

 Cancellation Policy 

  • High Peak-Christmas/New Year & Easter

  • Christmas deposits are refundable if booking is cancelled in writing by 30th November (cutoff date). Easter deposits are refundable if bookings are cancelled in writing by 28th February (cutoff date). Payments are non-refundable after cutoff dates.

  • PEAK TIMES - school holidays and long weekends.

  •  Your payment is refundable if cancelled inwriting/email 14 days prior to arrival (cutoff date). Refunds/credits are not applicable if cancelled less than 14 days prior.

  • OFF PEAK - your payment is refundable if cancelled in writing/email 7 days prior to arrival (cut-off date.) Refunds/credits are not applicable if cancelled less than 7 days prior to arrival date.

All cancellations must be given in writing/email before cutoff dates to be eligible for refund and/or credit. Non-arrivals or guests who dial to notify of cancellations will forfeit any payments made and will forfeit their site if no notification is received be end of business hours on your arrival date.
